As Poland's Historical Society we are dedicated to procuring \and displaying of artifacts relating to Poland's place in History as Town 1, Range 1 in the Connecticut Western Reserve.
Our major fund raiser to maintain the schoolhouse is our bi-annual Christmas Tour of homes. A lease agreement between the Historical Society and the Poland School Board was arranged for $1.00 per year for a period of 99 years, and thus became the home to the newly formed Poland Historical Society. Poland is only district in the State of Ohio to still have a one room schoolhouse.
Collecting History and artifacts of Poland Township has become our major point of interest. Anyone wishing to donated any history, original or copies, please contact the Historical Society.
The Little Red Schoolhouse Museum is located on the Northeast corner of Center Rd. (St. Rt. 224) and STruthers Rd. Our Museum is open the first Sunday of May, June, July, August, September and October from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. or by apt.
Membership is the lifeblood of the Historical Society, providing a substantial portion of the overall budget. Your support will continue our mission to preserve the history of Poland, to create exhibits that show the significance of our area, and your membership dollars help fund educational programs. It takes members to GET THINGS DONE.
